Roadgrip were contracted to install the new AGL (airfield ground lighting) network for the International Airport in Tobago as part of the Runway Refurbishment in 2011.
The works package is for 9000m of ducting in coral and 250 new AGL’s to the Edge and Threshold. The works spanned from April to November 2011 and were carried out by a team of eight specialists, supported by our new equipment acquisitions – a Vermeer Rockwheel and Xcalibur Coring Rig.
In addition to the AGL works, we remarked the runway and taxiways following the resurfacing.
Subsequently, due to the success of the project, Roadgrip has returned to Tobago to undertake rubber removal and friction testing of the runway surface in 2013.
