Airfield Marking & Rubber Removal

As part of the preparations for the Farnborough Airshow, Roadgrip were appointed to carry out a package of airfield marking and runway rubber removal works. The works to the runway included the deployment of Roadgrips’ TrackJet Rubber removal system to remove tyre rubber build up and improve friction on the touch down zone areas of the runway.

Some 10,000m2 of runway markings were repainted in order that the runway looked at its best for visiting pilots and spectators alike along with the installation of a temporary lengthened threshold to accommodate the visiting A380. The works also included the installation of a temporary heliport.

Airfield Operations Manager Chris Stone said “ We have used Roadgrips services on a number of occasions recently and are very pleased with their professionalism, the quality work, and the value for money they deliver. We were extremely pleased with the work carried out in preparation for the Airshow and look forward to working with them again this autumn to refresh some our taxiway markings prior to the winter season. ”
