Roadgrip Motorsport have been preparing the temporary racing circuit with track markings and sponsorship painting for Formula E in Berlin at the Tempelhof airport.

This exciting all-electric motorsport race takes place on the huge apron area of the historic WW2 airport in the centre of Berlin.

To prepare the circuit for the 2021 BMW I Berlin E-Prix, Roadgrip has been applying the sporting lines and run off sponsorship in FIA homologated paints. We painted the edge lines, grid, attack mode, run off and ground advertising in anti skid paint for extra safety.

As you can see from the drone images and ground photography below, the sponsorship logos have been hand-applied by our expert team to the surface of the city-centre circuit.

As this military base is now a world heritage site, all of these markings must be fully removed without damaging the surface underneath after the race. This adds complexity to the project but, with our sophisticated fleet of water blasting machinery, our team were able to return the site to its original condition with the Trackjet XL.

This UHP machine sensitively removes all lines whilst preserving the concrete surface underneath. We also use the same machine for cleaning circuits prior to racing as it can be adapted to improve grip on the track.

We removed 8000+ m2 of painted surfaces without damage to the protected site in record time and with minimal fuss. No-one would ever know such an incredible race had taken place on the site after Roadgrip have been in with the Trackjet! Watch the videos below.
