Roadgrip USA has recently completed new highway striping works on the roadway directly outside our American office in Clayton, refreshing the markings through the centre of a historic town in the heart of the Thousand Islands region.
Set along the banks of the St. Lawrence River, Clayton is best known for its waterfront, tourism and small-town character rather than its highway infrastructure. However, projects like this highlight that even relatively small sections of roadway can have a major impact on how a place looks, feels and functions.
The project involved the installation of fresh centreline striping, parking bay markings and hatched safety zones along the town’s main roadway.
Over time, highway markings naturally deteriorate due to traffic wear, weather exposure, winter maintenance and UV degradation. As markings fade, visibility reduces, particularly at night and during wet weather conditions, affecting both safety and the overall appearance of the roadway.
By reinstating sharp, highly visible markings, the works improve:
The contrast in the finished result is especially noticeable after dark, where the new markings and reflective finish help define the roadway much more clearly beneath the street lighting.
For Roadgrip USA, completing works within Clayton itself was also a nice reminder that clear, well-maintained markings play an important role in smaller communities, helping roads remain safe, organised and visually well presented for residents, businesses and visitors alike.
It’s always satisfying when the road outside your own office is looking its sharpest too!
