For the final race of the 2025 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, Roadgrip Motorsports was again trusted to deliver precision track marking services for one of the most technically challenging circuits on the calendar: the ExCeL London. This unique venue, with a circuit that flows between indoor and outdoor sections, demands exacting standards in both performance and safety. We provided all track markings using FIA-approved anti-slip paint to ensure optimal grip and visibility throughout the entire layout.

The Race Circuit Requirements

The ExCeL London circuit stands apart as the only Formula E layout that runs through an indoor venue. Drivers transition between polished indoor flooring and rougher outdoor asphalt, navigating 20 demanding corners across a 2.08 km course. The surface changes, lighting shifts, and narrow sections challenge both driver skill and engineering precision. In such a setting, the quality of track preparation and marking is critical, and that’s where our team’s expertise comes in.

Our Track Installation Solution

Roadgrip Motorsports applied a full suite of track marking services throughout the event build. This included:

  • Surface preparation: Our team cleaned and prepared both internal and external sections, ensuring maximum adhesion and durability of all markings.

  • Application of FIA anti-slip paint: Every marking across the circuit, from racing lines to pit lane indicators and grid boxes, was applied using FIA-homologated anti-slip paint to meet championship standards.

  • Indoor and outdoor consistency: Given the mix of indoor flooring and outdoor road surfaces, we ensured consistent grip and finish across both environments.

  • Post-event removal: Once the event concluded, we return to remove all temporary markings without damaging the underlying surfaces, using high-pressure water systems similar to those we’ve used at previous Formula E circuits.

Longstanding Partnership with Formula E

This project builds on our ongoing partnership with the Formula E championship, having supported the series with track marking, branding, and preparation services at multiple venues around the world. From the vibrant street circuit in São Paulo to the wide, open surface at Berlin Tempelhof, our team has worked under varied conditions and tight timelines to deliver safe, compliant, and visually striking racing environments.

Outstanding Results

The 2025 London finale was a high-profile double-header that delivered excitement and championship drama. Thanks to our team’s precise work, the track surface met the highest standards of safety, clarity, and consistency. The anti-slip technology we applied helped mitigate risk in both dry and damp conditions, while the clear visual layout contributed to a smooth and professional race weekend for drivers, teams, and event organisers alike.
