Roadgrip Airports, Europe’s leading runway grooving specialists, have been called in to improve Weston Airport’s runway.
As part of Weston Airport’s major development plans to become Dublin’s premier business aviation hub, their project involves the upgrade of the existing runway to accommodate heavier and faster business jets.
The first part of the runway upgrade was to improve the texture depth of the runway surface so our grooving team precision-cut an ICAO specification groove pattern into the existing runway and the proposed runway extension that is currently used as a starter strip.
Working 12-hour night shifts using only one pc1500 1000mm wide groover, we completed the work in a little over a week.
We completed the works by refreshing the runway markings.
