The Roadgrip Airports team are no strangers to working through the night on runways to carry out airfield maintenance while air traffic is low. We aren’t afraid to travel thousands of miles to get the job completed quickly, either.
We received the order (back in the UK head office) to groove 120,000 m2 of runway at Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, in a short timeframe. We immediately set to work to organise the shipping of all equipment via sea freight over 8700 miles from the UK, and in just 45 days from order, the job was completed by our global team.
The Roadgrip grooving machine cut grooves measuring 6mm x 6mm at 38 mm centres in the tarmac, in accordance with the FAA standards for safety.
