We are delighted to publicly announce that Roadgrip Motorsport are operational partners in the Indonesian MotoGP race for 2021 onwards.
Working in partnership with Mrk1 Consulting, this brand new world class circuit will host the FIM MotoGP™ World Championship, as well as the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship on the island of Lombok.
We began working on the circuit concept back in 2016 with the ITDC, Indonesia’s largest tourism developer and operator. In 2017, we signed the joint agreement to build on that design and operate the street circuit moving forward.
Being a street circuit, safety is paramount. The track has therefore been designed to meet the FIM standards for MotoGP with the flexibility to revert back to public roads outside of the racing calendar.
The track itself is 4.3 km with 19 corners. With over 50,000 grand stand seats planned, we expect the circuit to attract one of the largest crowds for a MotoGP race. We’ve also incorporated a fantastic pit building that will double up as a conference centre outside of the race events.
The street circuit complex sits in this new resort of Mandalika and covers an area of 405 hectares with 11 hotels, a hospital and various retail spaces. Construction has already begun on the basic infrastructure.
We are thrilled to be part of the team to deliver the Mandalika Grand Prix, bringing our 20 years combined experience of working on race tracks throughout the world. Take a look at our other track designs: Roadgrip Motorsport
