Roadgrip has been back on track at the Red Bull Ring preparing the circuit for MotoGP, refreshing existing markings and converting key areas from their previous configuration to the specifications required for motorcycle racing.

The Red Bull Ring hosts several major international championships, but preparing it for MotoGP involves more than simply refreshing the paint already on the asphalt.
Our scope included changing the circuit markings to the MotoGP layout and installing the specific corner and grid markings required for the event. That means working accurately from the relevant race specifications so that everything is in the correct position before the bikes take to the circuit.
The difference between configurations is particularly visible at the upper section of the track. Since 2022, MotoGP has used a purpose-built chicane around Turn 2, designed specifically to reduce motorcycle speeds through this part of the circuit. The alternative layout allows other championships, including Formula 1, to continue using the traditional configuration.
The Red Bull Ring sits among the mountainous landscape of Styria, with 65 metres of elevation change around the circuit itself. Conditions in the area can change quickly.
Paint needs the right surface conditions not only during application but also for sufficient drying and curing afterwards. A dry track at the start of a shift doesn’t necessarily mean there will be a long enough window to complete everything planned.
For our team, that meant continually adapting the programme around the conditions. When a suitable weather window opened, the priority was to make the most of it; when rain arrived, work had to be reorganised around areas and tasks that could be completed later.
Once the conditions allowed, the team worked through the circuit refreshing the sporting lines, making the required layout changes and completing the grid and corner details ready for MotoGP.
