In May 2025, Formula E made its return to China with a fast-paced and unpredictable race at the Shanghai International Circuit, and Roadgrip Motorsport was on-site once again, supporting the championship with the installation of ground graphics and sponsor branding across the track.
As part of our ongoing partnership with Formula E, we painted key visual elements including ABB, Attack Mode, and Julius Bar which we carefully rendered in Mandarin Chinese to localise the branding and reflect the event’s international presence. All graphics were applied using standard FIA-approved paint, ensuring durability, safety, and broadcast clarity.
The Shanghai International Circuit, typically used for Formula 1, was adapted for Formula E’s racing format, favouring tighter, more technical sections over long straights. Our crew worked to exact specifications to place each graphic for maximum visibility, helping to reinforce sponsor presence and create a cohesive look for fans both trackside and tuning in worldwide.
Of course, painting on a live racetrack is never without its challenges. In Shanghai, we faced mixed and unpredictable weather throughout installation, from sun to sudden downpours. Careful planning and experience allowed our team to adapt on the ground and keep the project on track despite the shifting conditions.
Post race, we return to the circuit to cover the graphics with black anti-slip paint, restoring the track for other uses and ensuring it remains safe for future events.
