In preparation of the new cycling season, our track marking team travelled to the Velodrome at Gosling Sports Park in Welwyn Garden City to apply the racing lines.
For the new sporting lines, we used water-based acrylic paint, which was applied onto a slurry coating for extra grip and durability.
As the cycling season was fast-approaching at the end of April, we deed to complete the job within a tight window to allow the venue enough time for the velodrome to be inspected by the governing body pre-racing.
In typical British weather style, the forecast predicted rain everyday, which doesn’t;t play well with water-based paint. However, this is nothing new for our team who remained flexible, ready to move and act fast in-between the showers.
