For one weekend, the roads around Japan’s largest exhibition centre at Tokyo Big Sight become part of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship – and Roadgrip were there to install the street circuit markings.
Ahead of the event, Roadgrip Motorsport was responsible for painting the circuit’s sporting lines, pit lane markings and race branding, helping to prepare the venue for another chapter of electric racing.

Unlike a permanent race track, a Formula E street circuit often begins as an ordinary public highway.
Every sporting line, pit lane marking and painted graphic has to be set out from scratch before the barriers, grandstands and safety infrastructure are installed. Once complete, the circuit must function like any other international race venue, despite existing for only a matter of days.
At Tokyo Big Sight, Roadgrip’s crews carefully laid out the operational markings used throughout the event, alongside the pit lane that becomes the working home of every Formula E team during race weekend.
Working throughout the venue, Roadgrip Motorsport installed the large-format race branding that would appear throughout television coverage, around spectator areas and alongside the racing action. Every graphic had to align with the championship’s design standards while fitting naturally within the unique surroundings of Tokyo Big Sight.
