Runway Rubber Removal

Curacao International Airport, also known as Hato International Airport, has one of the longest runways in the Caribbean and the Roadgrip Airports Division were contracted to remove the rubber from 14,500m2 of it!

We had just one month to get all the equipment and staff airside, which was no problem for our quick-response global crew.  We transported our ultra-high-pressure (UHP) hydroblasting machines to the island along with a fleet of fully containerised rubber removal machines designed to be easily shipped around the world.

Hydroblasting allows the Roadgrip team to remove rubber, oil and debris from the runway without damaging the surface underneath, whilst maintaining friction on the airfield and improving safety for aircraft landings.

With restricted nighttime working windows and occasional flight disruptions, our skilled operators completed all works within a week. Well done, guys!

Road grip’s global Airports team can mobilise fast to all parts of the world, from the UK to the USA, Asia, Africa and Europe.  As one of the leading airfield maintenance companies in the world, we have the machines and crew to complete professional runway marking, rubber removal, airfield grooving, friction testing, AGL and more within short timeframes.
