Roadgrip Airports have been improving the condition of the airfield and runways at Norman Manley Airport (operated by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP)) in Kingston, Jamaica.

Using our new Cyclone machine, we water blasted the asphalt to remove 12,000 sqm of old paint markings. Then, to lengthen the longevity of the asphalt, we installed 75,000 sqm of slurry carbonate to increase the friction of the older asphalt.

This protects the asphalt from water ingress which in turn maintains the friction, safety and life of the runway. Our team then painted all the new airfield markings to the runway and taxiways using type III high build paint and type I glass beads for extra reflectivity and visibility at night.

We had a full team of experts and operatives from our UK and US HQ working with our local team in Jamaica to complete the job within 6 weeks.
