As Formula E returned to Shanghai, Roadgrip Motorsport was once again on site to transform the circuit into a championship-ready venue, delivering the specialist track markings, run-off areas and event branding that define one of the world’s leading motorsport series.
The Shanghai International Circuit is one of the world’s most recognisable motorsport venues. Originally designed by Hermann Tilke, the circuit has hosted Formula 1 since 2004 and is renowned for its sweeping opening corner, long back straight and modern facilities.
For Formula E, sections of the permanent circuit are reconfigured to create a layout tailored to all-electric racing.
Working to a carefully planned programme, Roadgrip Motorsport installed the sporting lines that guide drivers around the circuit, ensuring every marking was positioned with millimetre accuracy using specialist surveying techniques and motorsport-approved materials.
Alongside the racing lines, our teams completed the anti-slip painted run-off areas, creating highly visible safety zones designed to perform under demanding race conditions while complementing Formula E’s distinctive visual identity.
