The Roadgrip Motorsport team has returned once again to the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar, a place where art, culture and world-class racing come together. For this project, we prepared the track for the 2025 Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Working in Qatar’s climate demands more than stamina. It takes planning, precision and huge respect for the environment and culture we’re working within. Our crews adapt their schedules around the heat, dust, sand and fog, pushing through early mornings and late evenings to ensure every marking and decorative detail met the highest standards.
Our long-standing relationship with the Lusail Circuit team is central to the success of this project. Over many years together, we’ve built a partnership rooted in clear communication, mutual respect and a shared ambition to make Lusail one of the most distinctive circuits on the global calendar.
We don’t just prepare Lusail for F1. Roadgrip also delivers the track markings and run-off finishes for the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and MotoGP, ensuring the same precision, safety and cultural detail is carried through every discipline that races here. Whether it’s Formula 1 cars, endurance prototypes or MotoGP bikes, the standards remain the same.
Lusail’s identity shines through its Sadu-inspired patterns, flowing across the run-off areas in bold geometric forms rooted in Qatar’s traditional weaving heritage. These designs are more than aesthetic; they’re culturally symbolic, and our team treats them with the care and authenticity they deserve.
Recreating the complex Sadu patterns at such scale requires both technical accuracy and artistic sensitivity. Each motif is translated from textile art into durable, high-performance track markings.
This year’s work included installation of 120,000 square metres of FIA-approved paint, applied with millimetre precision. The coatings are engineered for grip, durability and safety, ensuring exceptional performance during qualifying and race days.
Using robotic plotters, digital layout systems, hand painting and advanced spray equipment, we ensured absolute consistency across the entire site – a blend of modern technology and expert craftsmanship that has become a hallmark of Roadgrip’s work.
Lusail stands out because it is more than a track. It’s a cultural showcase. Each grandstand, pattern and painted surface speaks to Qatar’s identity, and the Sadu-inspired run-off areas have become instantly recognisable to fans around the world.
For Roadgrip Motorsport, working at Lusail is always a privilege. Every year brings new heat, new deadlines and new creative ambitions, but also the same collaborative spirit, the same cultural respect and the same drive to deliver excellence.
