The Roadgrip Car Parks team has just wrapped up a challenging and rewarding car park marking project at the hospital car park in Coventry UK.

The job was no small feat. The entire area of disabled bays was ripped out and resurfaced, ready for us to step in and reinstate the full layout. Working from an old Google Earth plan of the site, we had a total of 92 disabled bays to install.

To make it even more interesting, the image reference was effectively a mirror image of the old layout, so accuracy and sharp setting out were absolutely essential.

The resurfacing was completed on Saturday, leaving us just two and a half days (Saturday afternoon, Sunday, and Bank Holiday Monday) to complete the full job. With the car park needing to be fully operational again by Tuesday, there was no room for delays.

Adding to the challenge, the car park is a triangular shape set on a curve. This made the layout of the bays and hatchings far trickier than usual, especially around the perimeter where everything sits on a radius. Getting those hatchings clean and precise took a great deal of skill, focus, and technical know-how from our crew – but they nailed it.

All markings were completed in screed-applied thermoplastic, applied with our Graco paint machine for crisp, durable lines that will stand the test of time and daily use.

Despite the complexity and time pressure, the team delivered the project in full, on time, and to a high standard.

A huge thanks to GCP and Stardom for including us in this project. It was a pleasure working alongside their teams to get this job done.
