Roadgrip Airports LATAM has successfully completed another runway rubber removal programme in Curaçao, continuing a long-standing relationship with the airport built on consistency, reliability and trust.
Covering a total of 14,400 m², the works focused on restoring runway friction and maintaining safe landing conditions – a critical part of ongoing airfield maintenance in busy airport environments like this one.
The programme followed a tight and well-coordinated schedule.
Our operator arrived on the island on the Saturday and by Monday had completed site induction, prepared the equipment and begun work that same evening. Over the course of the week, the team carried out rubber removal operations across the runway, completing the full scope by the Friday.
By Saturday, the equipment had already been cleaned, packed and containerised, ready to be shipped to its next destination: the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Using ultra high pressure (UHP) water jetting, the team removed the rubber deposits efficiently without damaging the underlying asphalt. This method is precise, chemical-free and widely used across the aviation industry for maintaining runway performance.
Roadgrip has been carrying out these works in Curaçao since 2022, typically returning twice a year to maintain the runway. Each visit follows a similar scope, but that repeat work reflects something important: trust.
The airport relies on a proven approach, delivered by a team that understands the surface, the conditions and the operational requirements.
In airfield maintenance, there are no shortcuts. Safety depends on consistent performance, regular intervention and teams that can deliver reliably every time.
For Roadgrip LATAM, this project in Curaçao is another example of how repeatable, well-executed work supports long-term airport operations, helping to keep runways safe, compliant and ready for every landing.
