At Roadgrip, precision, speed, and performance are at the heart of what we do—so it’s only fitting that we sponsored a smashing little racing Shetland pony, Claredale Edward (affectionately known as Eddie), and his talented young jockey, Teddy Holliday, at one of the UK’s most prestigious equestrian events, The London International Horse Show.
Eddie and Teddy were one of just nine combinations selected to compete in the Shetland Pony Grand National, an exciting and fast-paced spectacle that captivated thousands of spectators. The dynamic duo spent the year racing at various venues across the country, striving to secure their place at this renowned event. Their hard work and determination paid off, earning them the chance to compete at one of the biggest stages in the equestrian world.
Beyond the thrill of competition, the Shetland Pony Grand National has a meaningful purpose—supporting the Bob Champion Cancer Trust. Throughout the year, the young jockeys dedicate time to fundraising efforts for prostate cancer research, and to date, they have collectively raised over £245,000. It’s inspiring to see these talented riders not only honing their skills on the track but also making a significant impact to such an important cause.
The London International Horse Show is one of the most celebrated events in the equestrian calendar, drawing over 80,000 visitors across the week. It brings together world-class competitions, breathtaking performances, and the iconic Shetland Pony Grand National—a crowd-favourite known for its high-energy racing and incredible displays of skill from both ponies and jockeys.
Roadgrip was proud to be featured throughout the event, with our branding appearing in social media coverage and prominently displayed on Eddie’s stable door.
The excitement doesn’t stop there. Teddy and Eddie are now preparing for an unforgettable adventure as they head to the Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show from the 14th to the 16th of February. Representing their team on an international stage is a dream come true, and we have no doubt they will do brilliantly.
