Over the past few years, something interesting has been happening behind the scenes at Roadgrip. Alongside our established work on racetracks, runways and road networks, we’re being called into a very different kind of arena: movies, festivals, and high-profile public installations.
And it makes perfect sense. When brands, directors, and event producers need precision, speed, and creative execution at scale, they’re turning to the people who know how to grab the attention of global audiences with surface artwork, branding and painting effects.
This growing crossover has become one of the most exciting parts of what we do.
Our film work has taken us into the heart of major productions, where painted effects need to hold up under intense scrutiny, from IMAX cameras to VFX pipelines.
We’ve installed:
Both require absolute uniformity, meticulous prep, and flawless finish.
Beyond film, our work is increasingly becoming part of cultural moments seen by millions.
In 2025, we created a huge grass-painted peace symbol directly in front of the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury – a piece that became one of the weekend’s defining visuals.
Later in the year, London’s Brick Lane became Yellow Brick Lane.
To help promote Wicked for Good, we transformed a 100-metre stretch of the iconic street using specialist anti-slip paint, stencil-sprayed bricks and a full overnight installation under a 24-hour road closure. It was bold, joyful, and unmistakably Roadgrip.
Part of what makes this work possible is our in-house infrastructure:
And when the show is over?
We also handle the clean-up.
Our high-pressure water jet systems remove temporary artwork and surface effects without chemicals, without damaging substrates, and without leaving a trace. It’s fast, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible.
That blend of creativity and engineering means we can deliver work that’s both visually striking and technically perfect, whether it’s a movie backdrop, a PR activation or a festival centrepiece.
As demand grows from production studios, event teams and PR agencies, this side of Roadgrip is becoming a core part of what we offer. It’s a natural evolution, rooted in the same principles that built our global motorsport and aviation reputation: accuracy, quality, and the ability to deliver under pressure.
The projects may be different, from racetracks to film sets to fields in Somerset – but our commitment stays the same across the business.
And we’re just getting started.
