Our US motorsport team has completed the track markings, pit lane and finish line for the Detroit Grand Prix circuit, helping to prepare the street circuit for one of the most exciting weekends in American motorsport: IndyCar.

Once the race weekend had finished, we returned to the circuit to remove the markings using UHP water jets, helping restore the roads after the event.

Preparing the Detroit Grand Prix Street Circuit

Unlike a permanent race track, the Detroit Grand Prix circuit is a street circuit, built around existing roads in downtown Detroit. That means the track markings need to be clear, durable, accurate and race-ready, while also being removable once the event is over.

Precision Track Marking for Motorsport

For the IndyCar Detroit Grand Prix, our work included the installation and removal of  the pit lane, finish line, kerbs and circuit markings.

The pit lane is one of the busiest and most controlled areas of any race circuit. Clear markings help teams operate safely and efficiently during practice, qualifying and race sessions.

The finish line is equally important. It is one of the most iconic parts of any circuit, marking the moment where races are won, records are set and celebrations begin.

For an event like the Detroit Grand Prix, these markings also formed part of the identity and atmosphere of the race. Often, the finish line simply features black and white checks but for this event, sponsor logos and race branding were incorporated into the final design.

Post-Race Marking UHP Removal

After the IndyCar Detroit Grand Prix, our team returned to remove the pit lane, finish line and circuit markings using UHP water jetting. This method uses ultra-high-pressure water to remove line markings from the road surface without the need for harsh chemicals.

Using UHP water jets allows markings to be removed efficiently and accurately, helping return the streets to everyday use after the event. It is a key part of delivering temporary motorsport circuits in live urban environments, where both race-day performance and post-event restoration matter.
