For Roadgrip, the Caribbean is not just another region we work in. It’s where much of the company’s story began.
Over 25 years ago, as Roadgrip expanded beyond the UK, Jamaica became one of the first places where we established a permanent presence. From those early days of highway striping and airfield markings, the Caribbean has remained a core part of our operations, with projects spanning airports, highways, ports and transport infrastructure across the region.
Today, the Roadgrip Jamaica team continues that legacy, travelling throughout the Caribbean to deliver specialist surface marking and maintenance work with the same standards we apply anywhere in the world.
One of the people who helped build that early Caribbean operation alongside our founder, Roger Morley, was our longest-serving team member, Craig (better known across the company as Jock, and widely regarded as a bit of a legend).
When he first joined Roadgrip more than three decades ago, Jock spent six years based in Jamaica working on highway striping projects across Jamaica and the Bahamas.
During that time he trained a number of local team members who are still part of the Roadgrip family today.
Among them are Alonzo (known to everyone as Bobby), Onion, Macky and Roy. Nicknames, it seems, are very much part of the culture at Roadgrip.
Those early years laid the foundations for a skilled local workforce that continues to grow and evolve today.
The Roadgrip Jamaica team now works across multiple countries in the region, bringing their expertise to a wide range of infrastructure projects.
Their work includes everything from port markings in Saint Vincent to runway markings in Antigua, as well as highway striping, joint sealing and Rhinophalt preservation works on major transport routes such as the TransJamaican highways.
Each project requires a combination of technical skill, practical problem solving and the ability to work across different island environments, climates and operational requirements.
The team regularly mobilises across the Caribbean, applying the same standards of precision and durability whether they are working at an international airport, a busy container port or a key national highway.

A core part of Roadgrip’s philosophy is to establish local teams wherever we operate internationally.
Rather than flying in short-term crews, we invest in training local staff, providing them with specialist equipment, materials and ongoing support. Experienced personnel from our wider global team travel to assist when needed, helping with machinery maintenance, project delivery and technical training.
This approach builds long-term expertise within the region while ensuring our clients benefit from both local knowledge and international experience.
The Jamaica team perfectly captures the spirit that runs through Roadgrip as a company. There is strong camaraderie, plenty of humour and, as you might expect, a laid-back Jamaican vibe.
But when it comes to the work, they are focused, skilled and dependable.
From highways to airports and ports across the Caribbean, they continue to deliver the same quality and reliability that Roadgrip has built its reputation on for more than three decades.
And it all traces back to those early days on the roads of Jamaica.
