Roadgrip Motorsport has completed the track markings and circuit branding installation at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit as part of our season-long commitment to the FIA’s Formula E.
Known as one of the fastest and most visually striking street circuits in the world, Jeddah demands absolute precision, both in performance and presentation. From large-scale run-off designs to sponsor branding and sporting lines, every element of the circuit required careful planning, accurate setting out and flawless application.
Before any paint touched the surface, our team carried out meticulous setting out for race branding and sponsor logos.
At Jeddah, this meant combining traditional techniques with modern technology to achieve millimetre-level accuracy across a complex street circuit layout.
We established reliable datum points and reference lines, using string lines and physical measurements to anchor the geometry of the track. These fundamentals remain essential in motorsport track marking, ensuring alignment is correct relative to corners, apexes and racing lines.
Alongside these traditional methods, we deployed our latest layout software and virtual reality technology to map large-scale logos digitally. VR visualisation allows the team to preview artwork at full scale before committing to paint, refining placement and ensuring balance from both grandstand and broadcast perspectives.
Even with advanced digital tools, the final stage always relies on our team’s expert eye. Slight adjustments are often required to compensate for camber, surface variation and perspective distortion – details that can only be judged on site.
Once the setting out was complete, our painters moved into installation phase, applying FIA-compliant anti-slip paint systems across:
Anti-slip coatings are critical in Formula E, where braking zones and corner entry demand consistent grip. These materials are engineered not only for broadcast impact, but also for driver confidence and safety in high-performance electric racing conditions.
The bold run-off designs at Jeddah required careful control of film thickness and curing times to ensure durability in the region’s warm climate.
Delivering accurate racetrack painting at this scale requires a mix of tools and craftsmanship. Our team used:
Each method plays a role. Machines provide speed and consistency. Stencils guarantee brand accuracy. Hand finishing ensures crisp edges and clean transitions where surfaces shift or gradients change.
This layered approach ensures that every logo is sharp, every line is clean, and every corner is broadcast-ready.
The Jeddah Corniche Circuit is built for spectacle. With global audiences watching and drivers pushing to the limit, the track surface must deliver both performance and visual impact.
Clean, high-contrast markings allow drivers to read the circuit clearly at speed, while bold branding makes the venue instantly recognisable on camera.
At Roadgrip Motorsport, our role is to ensure the circuit is as precise as the cars racing on it. Contact us to learn more or browse our latest projects for inspiration.
