Following the adrenaline of the 2025 Formula E season finale at ExCeL London, Roadgrip Motorsport returned to complete the final stage of our track delivery: the full removal of all temporary track markings.

Over the course of the event build, our team applied over 1,500 square metres of FIA-homologated anti-slip paint across the unique indoor-outdoor circuit. From racing lines to sponsor logos, grid boxes to run-off areas, each marking was carefully applied to deliver clarity and grip for high-speed electric racing.

But once the race weekend wrapped and the ExCeL venue transitioned back to public and commercial use, our focus shifted to restoring the space to its original condition, quickly, cleanly, and without damaging the underlying surfaces.

1,500m² of Paint — Removed with Precision

Using our ultra high-pressure (UHP) water removal systems, we successfully removed all temporary markings from both internal and external sections of the track. The UHP method is a proven solution for sensitive surfaces, offering a fast and thorough clean without the need for harsh chemicals, grinding, or heavy abrasion.

This approach is especially important in environments like ExCeL London, where the interior floors are polished and multi-use, and the external areas must be left clear of residue or surface damage.

Why Ultra High-Pressure Water?

Ultra high-pressure water removal is our preferred method for post-race cleanups, and for good reason:

  • Surface-safe: UHP systems lift paint from the surface without cutting into or scarring the material underneath, making them ideal for polished concrete, tarmac, or specialist finishes.

  • Environmentally friendly: With no abrasive dust and no chemical runoff, UHP water removal is a cleaner, greener choice, reducing environmental impact and ensuring compliance with venue and municipal regulations.

  • Efficient turnaround: Large areas can be cleared quickly, allowing venues like ExCeL to return to standard operations without delay or disruption.

A Seamless End-to-End Solution

This removal project marked the completion of our full track services at the London E-Prix, from surface prep and paint application through to post-event restoration. It’s an approach we’ve refined across years of Formula E support, in cities like São Paulo, Berlin, and previous editions of London.

At Roadgrip Motorsport, we pride ourselves on delivering the full package: safe, compliant, and high-performance circuits that can be fully reversed when the race is done. For temporary tracks like ExCeL London, that reversibility is essential.

From the first line down to the final clean-up, we always deliver every detail with precision. Visit Roadgrip Motorsport to learn more or contact our UK Head Office to learn more.
