As the 2025 Formula E season races towards its finale, Roadgrip Motorsport was once again on the ground in Berlin, playing a crucial behind-the-scenes role in preparing one of the series’ most iconic and unconventional circuits. This marks another chapter in our ongoing commitment to the all-electric championship, combining elite track-marking expertise with the demands of high-speed, sustainable motorsport.
As in previous projects, our motorsport team worked across the expansive site of Berlin’s historic Tempelhof Airport, transforming an active public space into a temporary street circuit that’s race-ready in every sense. The surface, made up of grooved concrete aircraft runways, presents a set of unique technical challenges that few circuits on the calendar can match.
Unlike permanent racetracks, the Berlin E-Prix is built and dismantled in a matter of days, requiring a level of precision and efficiency that only experienced teams like Roadgrip can deliver. Every element of the track markings must be FIA-compliant, highly visible, and durable enough to withstand the intense wheel-to-wheel action Formula E is known for.
But just as important as the setup is what comes after. Once the chequered flag falls, our team returns to the site to remove all branding, grid markings, and safety paint, carefully restoring the surface to its original state. It’s a delicate process that respects the heritage and functionality of Tempelhof, which continues to serve Berliners as a park, public space, and cultural venue.
While the drivers battle for championship points, it’s our job to ensure the circuit tells the story of Formula E. From precise grid markings and apex definition to bold branding across run-offs and straights, every element is designed for high visual impact, both on the ground and from the broadcast cameras above.
Each sponsor logo is carefully laid with specialist paint engineered for grip, durability, and visibility. It’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about performance and safety, too. In the high-speed world of Formula E, even the paint needs to work as hard as the machines on track.
Formula E isn’t just a motorsport series, of course. It’s a statement about the future of sustainable transport and innovation. Roadgrip Motorsport is proud to be part of that message.
The materials used in the branding and safety markings are low-VOC, eco-conscious formulations designed to reduce environmental impact without compromising performance. It’s all part of Roadgrip’s broader mission to align with the sustainability goals of Formula E and the cities it visits.
