At Roadgrip Motorsport, we believe high performance and sustainability should go hand-in-hand. Whether we’re branding a race track, painting a run off area, or removing paint after a major event, our methods are built around care, for our clients, our teams, and our planet.
Traditional solvent-based paints may get the job done on track designs and run off areas, but they come with a heavy environmental price—emitting harmful VOCs (volatile organic compounds), contributing to air pollution, and posing risks to both people and ecosystems. That’s why we prefer to use high-performance water-based paints across international race tracks.
These paints are specially formulated to meet the extreme demands of motorsport—high adhesion, fast drying, and durable under intense pressure and weather conditions—without the harmful emissions.
Water-based paints contain significantly lower levels of VOCs and are easier to clean up and dispose of safely, reducing the carbon footprint of every job.
It’s not just the tarmac we care about. Roadgrip also specialises in grass designs and branding that appear around circuits and feature prominently in televised events. These logos and designs are created using water-based turf paints that are non-toxic, biodegradable, and safe for the local ecosystem.
The benefit? Striking visual branding without damaging the natural environment. These paints degrade naturally over time or can be removed using water, leaving no permanent mark on the landscape.
When it’s time to update branding or reline a circuit, Roadgrip relies on cutting-edge technology that removes paint without chemicals or environmental damage. Our fleet includes machines like the Cyclone and Trackjet, which use Ultra High-Pressure (UHP) water blasting to lift paint from the surface efficiently and sustainably.
These machines work by directing water at pressures of up to 40,000 psi, breaking the bond between the paint and the surface without the need for harsh solvents. The Trackjet system, for example, collects the removed material and water in a closed-loop system, filtering and reusing the water to minimise waste. Compared to traditional paint removal methods, UHP systems drastically reduce the amount of water required (as little as 10-15 litres per minute) depending on the surface and application.
It’s not just better for the environment—it’s also safer for track personnel, and leaves behind a clean, dry surface that’s ready for new markings in record time.
Roadgrip operates on every continent, supporting world-renowned motorsport events and circuits—from Formula 1 and MotoGP to street races, city circuits and the all-electric Formula E for which we are track painting partners.
No matter the location, our commitment is the same: to deliver exceptional quality while protecting the environments we work in.
By choosing water-based paints and sustainable removal methods, we help reduce pollution, water waste, and the ecological footprint of every project. Our clients benefit from cleaner, safer, and more responsible solutions—and fans around the world get to enjoy the spectacle without the side effects.
Roadgrip Motorsport is constantly innovating to reduce our environmental impact without compromising on quality or performance.
