The Roadgrip airfield team recently completed our largest military airfield line marking project of 2020. Supporting our client, Allied Infrastructure Management, Roadgrip reinstated all airfield markings including lead on/lead off lines, centre lines, edge lines, sterile markings, numerals on all the taxiways, and runway and internal taxiway road on what is one of the busiest central logistics RAF bases in the UK.
The Roadgrip team were on site for just over three weeks and worked a combination of day and night shifts to minimise disruption, depending on access. The team needed to be flexible in their approach to the work, as each shift depended on where the Rhinophalt application had been completed and cured sufficiently. This determined when and where each stage of line marking would be carried out and where other works were taking place.
The Allied team were extremely well-organised and a good working relationship was forged between them and the Roadgrip team who delivered exceptionally high-quality runway markings. Together, both on-site teams ensured everything went according to plan. The end result was a happy client and a refreshed look across all the airside asphalt. We look forward to our next joint project!
